Family in Washington 

Our journey across country started August 30, 2020 in Georgia with just our truck and RTT (roof top tent).  Our goal was to spend time in areas we haven't Explored and eventually make it to Washington to visit family.  Our time in Washington was hampered by the forest fires and thick smoke.  We had a great visit with Cindy's brother and family.  We were able to get out one day to Lake Quinault Lodge and see some of the huge Redwoods.  We had a picnic and explored the banks of a beautiful Washington Creek.  Seeing everyone and eating some really great food made our visit really special.  Thanks Mat and Deb for all the great food and fellowship!

mount rainier national park

We were able to drive up to some great views of the mountain on this day, but the very next day the smoke moved in and the park and highway to the park were closed due to smoke from nearby fires. More on Mount Rainier

Coming into the southeastern part of Washington, we saw a lot of wheat fields and agriculture.  The land is rolling and looks really dry, but they produce a lot of grain and hay in this area.
